Thushaaram is a homestay style holiday home located in Kuttikkanam in Idukki district of Kerala, India. It is a family owned vacation cottage, built in the middle of a plantation property spread across about 1 acre of land. It is located about 3 kilometres from Kuttikkanam. The only attraction when the family purchased the land was the nice landscape of the property with a small river in the boundary and the cool and calm climate of western Ghats .
Almost twenty years back a small rock home was constructed with two bed rooms , living area , a small kitchen and a small dining . The home served as a summer getaway for the family members .
The land and the cottage remained unoccupied for most part of the season and when someone reaches there to spend the vacation , the property will be filled with forest and the preparation of the home itself will take the whole vacation .
So the suggested plan was to do a full revamp of the property and keep the place engaged with visitors so that the place will be live and active throughout the year .
You may be aware that maintaining a summer home for an occasional family get-together or a casual visit of one or two days per year will be a costly affair for most of us .
Thushaaram in Malayalam language means Dew Drops.
The idea of the Thushaaram , which was the name of the house itself is that you can treat it as your home itself . It is NOT a serviced villa with all those artificial hospitality persons around you to pamper you . It can be just treated as your summer home away from your home . The only difference is that you are not going to pay for an year long maintenance .
About Kuttikkanam
Idukki District of Kerala gets its stunning landscape because of the western ghats . Kuttikkanam is a popular tourist destination in Idukki which is almost 3,500 meters above sea level . The place is blessed with cool climate and lush green tea plantation . The place is a diversion point where one way leads to Thekkedy wild life resorts and other way to Munnar and Vagamon .
Kuttikkanam is easily accessible from all the major cities in Kerala through well connected roads . Once you reach Kuttikkanam , Thushaaram is just 3 Km away from Kuttikkanam . After reaching the site , collect the keys from your friendly neighbour and the house and the property is for yours to stay and relax .
It is a ready to occupy facility with two master beds + Extra beds , a television set with DTH connection , Fridge , gas stove, other essential utensils and lot of books if you love to read .
Kuttikkanam has many places where you can find nice Indian food. still if you love to cook , we have a small kitchen loaded with basic amenities for your short stay . 
On the south end of the property , there is a small river and on monsoon season , there will be enough water for a nice refreshing bath .
